Carl & Pearl Butler

Carl Butler already had a long string of hits in the 1950's when he and his wife Pearl first reached '1 in the charts with "Don't Let Me Cross Over" in 1962. They became regulars at the FGrand Ole Opry and continued to record for different labels, without ever repeating that major hit. Nevertheless, they recorded pure and uncompromized honky tonk music!

Carl also was a successful writer, with standards like "If Teardrops Were Pennies" and "Crying My Heart Out Over You".
