Janie Fricke

Janie Fricke started her musical career doing commercial jingles for a radio station in Memphis. She moved to Nashville in 1975 and quickly became an in-demand background vocalist in the studios. Producer Billy Sherrill teamed her up with Johnny Duncan and they had a #1 hit with "Thinking Of A Rendezvous" in 1976. Soon after that, she was signed as a solo act, but it took until 1981 before she had her first top 5 hits with "Down To My Last Broken Heart" and "I'll Need Someone To Hold Me When I Cry", followed by a string of six #1's between 1982 and 1984, including "It Ain't Easy Bein' Easy" and "Tell Me A Lie".
