Barbara Mandrell

Born from a musical family, Barbara Mandrell was one of the biggest stars in country music in the 1970's and 80's. Her talents not only include her abilities as vocalist and entertainer, she is also a gifted instrumentalist who plays several instruments like guitar, saxophone, pedal steel guitar, dobro and banjo.

Her recording career started in the 1960's, she also teamed up with David Houston for several duet recordings. Her earlier recordings like "Playin' Around With Love", "The Midnight Oil" and "Standing Room Only" did well, but she didn't reach #1 on the charts until 1978 when she scored with "Sleeping Single In A Double Bed", followed by "If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want To Be Right".
