Mickey Newbury

Along with fellow songwriters Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Tom T. Hall, Mickey Newbury brought a new dimension into songwriting in the 1960's. As a singer he recorded 15 albums over a 30-year period without ever enjoying any major chart success. The songs he wrote were recorded by an impressive list of artists in the country and pop field and still are among the standards today. Songs like "San Farncisco Mabel Joy", "Funny Familiar Forgotten Feelings" and "Sweet Memories" are a lasting proof of his profound abilities as songwriter.

Mickey Newbury passed away at age 62 in 2002.
