Vernon Oxford
Vernon is another example of a pure honky tonk singer, singing uncompromized country music in a time that was trying hard to sell the slick and polished, more urbane sounds as "real" country. He recorded for RCA Victor from the mid 60's on, but only enjoyed minor chart success, his biggest hit being "Redneck" which hit the top 20 in 1975.
Vernon's pure country voice and Lloyd's country playing is a combination that's really worthwhile hearing!
