T.G. Sheppard
T.G. Sheppard was one of the successful pop-country artists of the 1970's, starting off his singing career with two #1 hits in 1975: "Devil In A Bottle" and "Tryin' To Beat The Morning Home" (with Lloyd Green playing on both of them!). Initially, he was working for different companies as song promoter and tried to find a singer for "Devil In A Bottle". After the song had been rejected for over two years, he finally decided to record it himself and all of a sudden he found himself on the road to stardom.
In the next years he followed up with more than ten #1 hits, including "Solitary Man", Last Cheater's Waltz", I'll Be Coming Back For More" and "War Is Hell (On The Home Front Too)".
