Connie Smith
She is referred to often as the greatest voice in Country Music ever, her pure, uncompromised singing style and her soulful voice helped her gain immediate success in 1964 with her first #1 hit "Once A Day". She stayed with RCA Victor until 1974, then signed a contract with Columbia Records, recording several albums for the label. The recordings from that period didn't do as well in the charts as her previous sides, yet they remain beautiful pieces of music by one of the great voices of Country Music. Lloyd Green played on several of the Columbia albums, providing the perfect background for Connie's pure singing.
