Mel Tillis
One the most prolific songwriters in the history of country music, Mel Tillis won his fame as being the composer of classics like "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town", "Detroit City", "Heart Over Mind" and "Burning Memories". Besides his songwriting, he always pursued his career as singer, enjoying steady success in the charts. His first #1 hit came in 1972 with "I Ain't Never" (Lloyd played on that one!) which was followed by several top five hits like "Sawmill", "Midnight, Me And The Blues", "Neon Rose" and "Stomp Them Grapes".
Truly an amazing career for one of the all-time great artists of country music!
